ZFU Partners with PUM for Potato Production Training

The Zimbabwe Farmers Union (ZFU), in partnership with PUM, is set to host an intensive Potato Production Training program this November. The training aims to equip farmers with practical knowledge and modern techniques to enhance potato production, improve yields, and increase profitability.

The training will be facilitated by a PUM expert, bringing international expertise and hands-on guidance to Zimbabwean farmers. Scheduled to take place at the ZFU Head Office in Milton Park, Harare, the program will run in two sessions:

  • November 13–14, 2025

  • November 17–18, 2025

The training spans one and a half days, combining classroom sessions with a practical field visit. Participants will benefit from personalized engagement with the expert, gaining insights into potato production best practices, pest and disease management, soil fertility, and sustainable farming approaches.

To ensure a conducive learning environment, lunch will be provided for all participants. The training fee is set at $50 per person, covering both the theoretical and field-based components of the program.

Farmers are encouraged to register and make payment before October 31, 2025. However, registration may close earlier once the limited slots are filled, so early booking is highly recommended.

This collaboration between ZFU and PUM underscores the union’s commitment to empowering farmers with technical skills and resources that drive agricultural transformation. With potatoes being a high-value crop in Zimbabwe, the training offers farmers an opportunity to boost production efficiency and tap into growing market demand.
